We've all experienced it. You're in a meeting, you identify what you believe is an IT glitch, and ask for input from the VP of IT. He looks up from his laptop and says: "Can you repeat the question?"

All of us, including top leaders, find ourselves in a job search at some point.  And, if you're in a leadership position, it takes that much longer because there just aren't as many jobs available at the top. 

Do you need to tone down your voice tone, word choice, gestures, and emotions to ensure you don't "sit on" ideas, people, and decisions?

Take a proactive role in understanding what is expected of you by your new boss, who will likely have different expectations, views, and priorities than your previous boss.

The Executives I work with often struggle with taking the time to do the Strategic Thinking they need to do. I usually suggest that they calendar the time on a regular basis so they make sure it happens.
